This class will discuss attic ventilation and how night sky radiation effects and moisture conditions in general cannot be mitigated by increasing ventilation.

Description
The course will teach inspectors about night sky radiation cooling and its effects on buildings in maritime climates and elsewhere. We will discuss the forces that drive or cause air movement in and out of buildings, especially stack effect. The course will attempt to dispel common home inspector misconceptions about attic ventilation and house ventilation in general. It will also discuss how the purpose of ventilation can vary in different climates.
