Over the last 20 years in many climate zones, fiber cement siding has become the most widely installed siding. This siding is generally successful; however, fiber cement siding problems are common and can be serious. This class will cover lap siding, panel siding and rain screen installations. We will review James Hardie installation requirements and contrast these with observations from the field. We will review how installation requirements have changed and discuss the differences between best practices and the 13 major components.
